An analogue of yohimbine, but its potency at the sub-receptors of alpha2 differ quite a bit--most notably at the alpha2b and alpha2c adrenergic sub-receptors. It is 3 times more potent at alpha2b and 4 times more potent at alpha2c. It is equipotent at alpha2a. The differing ratio of activity is where it allows us to do good stuff with it that we could not do with yohimbine.
